Friday September 22


Cross country forms are due today if you haven’t already brought them in. Please bring them to Mrs. McKechnie. Our cross country meet is on Tuesday. Please be at the school for 9:00 and meet Mrs. McKechnie and Mrs. Arnold in the front foyer. Remember to dress for the weather, bring running shoes, lunch,  and a water bottle. If you have a Panthers shirt please remember to wear it. Cross Country members, meet Mrs. McKechnie in the front foyer at the second half of first break.


Students from the Me to We club that are interested in attending the Family ‘We Day’ MUST see Ms Kennedy today at the beginning of first break. If you don’t see Ms Kennedy today you will not be able to obtain tickets.


The Terry Fox assembly will take place right after first break. Teachers are asked to wait in their classrooms until they are called down. Teachers please review the assembly behaviour expectations with your students.


Congratulations to the senior girls volleyball team on a great start to their volleyball season. The girls took part in a pre-season round robin and really came together as a team. They have shown that they are a team to be reckoned with this year. Way to go girls! There will not be a practice today. Next practice is Tuesday 8 am.

Thursday September 21

All members of the cross country team are to meet Mrs. McKechnie and Mrs. Arnold by the hill for practice today. Don’t forget to bring your permission form.


Would the assembly/tech crew from the Terry Fox Committee please meet Ms Kennedy in room 110 at the beginning of first break for a VERY IMPORTANT meeting.


There will be a meeting for students interested in being library helpers today at second break.  Library helpers please meet in the library today at 1:15.


Birthday Book Club Greetings go to Cynthia L who is celebrating her birthday(s)by donating a book to our library. Mrs Youngblut will stop by to invite you to select a birthday book.

Wednesday September 20 -

All members of the cross country team are to meet Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. McKechnie at hill at first break. Please bring your permission forms if you have not already done so.


Thank you to all of the grade 6,7, and 8 students who tried out for the flag football team. The final team will be posted outside the gym Friday morning.


There is a concert band rehearsal today at 2nd break. Grade 7 & 8 students that wish to join the band can still come to the music room and sign up.


Way to go Orchard Park!!  The response has been fantastic for our new Schoolcashonline!! Right now we have two classes that are 100% registered on Schoolcashonline! CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. ARNOLD’S CLASS, MRS. NICHOLSON’S CLASS AND MME ADAMS’ CLASS!! Currently Mrs. Taylor’s class is at 94%, Ms. Lestition’s class is at 94%, Mr. Cross’s class is at 95% AND Mrs. Pierce’ class is at 95%. Can any other classes make it to 100%??

Our competition for a free pizza lunch ends on Friday.

Don’t forget … the deadline to order a pizza lunch is this Friday. Pizza Tuesdays will start right after Thanksgiving. The pizza order form is available on Schoolcashonline. Remind your parents to order pizza online so you don’t miss out!


Any grade 7 & 8 students interested in playing on the ultimate frisbee team this year are invited to a short meeting tomorrow, Thursday at 11:15 in the gym. Please not bring your snack with you. It will only be a 5 minute meeting.

The second flag football tryout will be tomorrow Morning at 8am on the field. Please bring your permission forms if you’d still like to tryout!


If you are in grades 4 to 8 and would like to join the Orchard Park Choir, please come to the music room today at 1st break. Bring your lunches with you.


Please don't’ play with the toilet paper holder in the bathrooms. If you are in a bathroom and one of the toilet paper containers is open please let Mr. Whitaker know.  


There will be a very important Terry Fox Committee meeting in Ms Kennedy’s room at second break. Bring your lunches.

 

Eco Club members meet in Mrs. Sharma’s room during 2nd NB. That is first half of 2nd NB in Rm 206. If you missed last two meetings, you are welcome to join us today.

Monday September 18


This is the last week for cross country practices before the meet. Please meet Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. McKechnie by the hill at first break.


Athletic Council will meet today at 2nd break. It is open to all interested students in grades 7 & 8. Come down and see what it’s all about. Meet Mlle Conway in the gym at 1:15!


Teachers, please send down your Student student forms in the bins provided, if you haven’t already done so, thank you.


Grade 7 teachers, please send down your returned immunization forms.

Mr. Vize and Mrs. Nicholson are inviting all Grade 4 to 8 students who love to sing that Choir will be starting tomorrow at 1st break in the music room.


The schoolcash class contest continues. Currently we have 6 classes running neck in neck. Mrs. Arnold’s class is at 94% , Mr. Cross’s class is at 90%, Mme Adams’ class is at 89%, Ms. Lestition’s class is at 88%, Mrs. Nicholson’s class is at 88% and Mrs. Blanchard’s class is at 88%.  Our contest ends this Friday - September 22nd. Come on junior and intermediate classes -- you need to get your class totals up!!! Remind your parents to sign up for Schoolcashonline! Its quick and its easy for them to make purchases!
