ORCHARD PARK - Wednesday April 25, 2018

posted 25 Apr 2018, 06:36 by Donna Cowperthwaite

This is an important announcement for all Junior Boys Volleyball Team members. Please meet Mme. Hunt outside her office at first break to get your team jersey for tonight’s tournament. Please also remember to bring your permission form if you haven’t already.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, there will not be a girls’ soccer tryout today.

Our Club/Teams photos will be taken today in the gym. Please listen carefully this morning to the clubs/teams that will be called down- students will need to come down as soon as their team is called. The photographer will not wait for late students. Photos will be taken during the nutrition breaks. An announcement will be made prior to the breaks to indicate which team members will need to stay inside. You will be asked to wait quietly in the front foyer outside the gym. Directly after these announcements could the following teams make come down to the gym:

  1.     Me to we

  2.     Arts council

  3.     Athletics council

  4.     Scorekeepers

Due to photos being taken in the gym there will be no intramural cornerball taking place today.

We have a special guest coming today for the grade 6,7 & 8 students.  Author Joel A Sutherland will meet you in the library during period 4.  Mr Sutherland is the author of the Haunted Canada series as well as the Red Maple Nominated Summer’s End.  We look forward to learning about his experiences as an author and storyteller!

Due to the author visit, Junior Battle of the books will be cancelled today and will instead be combined with senior battle of the books tomorrow.

Order your yearbooks today, there is not much time left!!!

Here is another thought for Earth today:

On Earth Day, we celebrate all the gifts the world and nature make available to us. We recognize our complete dependence on its bounty. And we acknowledge the need for good stewardship to preserve its fruits for future generations. -John Hoeven

Let’s appreciate earth by reducing, reusing and recycling.
