ORCHARD PARK - Wednesday April 18, 2018

posted 18 Apr 2018, 06:50 by Sherri Livingstone

Would you be interested in creating a movie or slideshow to educate  people on various environmental issues. Halton Green Screens is launching first ever Amateur Film Festival this year and would love to get a lot of submissions from Halton students. Films can be as simple as photo slideshows set to music or voice, or as complicated as stop motion animation.

They will be accepting films until Friday May 18th. Selected films will be screened at a public event at Film.Ca Cinemas on Thursday June 14. Films will also be uploaded to their brand new YouTube channel and used in their schools program. Kindergarten classes are also welcome to participate.

If you are interested in this awesome opportunity, please contact Mrs. Sharma for further details.

Orchard Park, we have collected 700 books for our used book fundraiser already. We are not far away from our goal of collecting a thousand books. If you have not donated a book, consider doing it this week. The sale starts on Monday. We will be holding sale during both nutrition breaks starting April 23rd. Please bring a toonie to buy a book. Those who will buy 5 books or more will enter in a draw to win prizes.

Also, all leaders for Earth Day activities meet Mrs. Sharma in Rm 206 during 2nd NB

Today’s 5/6 cornerball at first break has the Whitecaps, Toronto FC, Impact and the Rapids playing. Come down at the first bell to play!

There will be a primary choir practise today at second break in Mrs. Hayes' classroom. See you there.
