posted 22 Mar 2018, 06:32 by Sherri Livingstone

Today is World Water Day!! It is an international day to recognize the importance of water throughout our lives, and to gain a better understanding of how we can use and protect our most precious resource for all people. To celebrate and learn, we will be having assemblies today in the gym to learn more about just how lucky we are to live in Canada, and specifically in Burlington. Students from the eco club have been doing some learning about the importance of water and will be sharing their knowledge with the rest of you. They will also be coming around today to take pictures of the classes dressed in blue, drinking out of those reusable water bottles, and maybe even interview you about how important water! Classes will be called down at the start of periods 3 and 4.

Read and relax will be at first break today for students in all grades, and senior read and relax will be cancelled this afternoon. Grade 6-8 students are welcome to come to  morning read and relax today.

Senior Battle of the Books will meet in Mme Bourgeois’ room at second break today as the library is busy.

Could any grade 6 students who still have their step challenge tracking forms please submit them to their teacher this morning. They will be collected at first break today.

There will be a short athletic council meeting today at the second half of first break in the gym.

Congratulations to the Senior Girls Basketball Team! The girls played an excellent game yesterday at Macmillan, it was a very close game and your OPP girls played some excellent defense to secure the win! Their next game is this Monday here at OPP against CH Norton. Come out and show your support for the last regular season game!

There will no yoga today.

Orchard Park remember to include others in your activities!

Have a Thoughtful Thursday.
