ORCHARD PARK - Monday September 24, 2018

Remember to wear an Orange Shirt this Friday on September 28th to support all indigenous children that were taken from their homes to go to a residential school.  Remember that every child matters and should be treated with respect.

Mark your calendars!  This Wednesday, September 26th is (#RowansLawDay) – a day to engage students, staff and coaches to increase awareness about concussions.   Wear purple (Rowan’s favorite colour) on Rowan’s Law Day!

Basketballs and Soccer balls - There are a few students who are bouncing and kicking sports balls in the hallways coming in and out at bell times.  This is unsafe and can damage the floor tiles in the hallways.  Please carry the recess equipment in your hands when travelling inside the building.  Teachers please monitor this and let the office know of any students who have to be reminded about this rule on a consistent basis.

When the Bell Rings - games, shooting, kicking, all play should stop.  For example, students who continue to play basketball after the bell can cause injury to some students because they don’t expect the ball to be coming down on them while waiting to enter the building.  Teachers on black top duty, please remind students of this rule and again, let the office know of any students who continue to need reminders.

Grade 1s and 2s are invited to play tag games with Ashley, Brogan, Sophia and Sophia today at 1st break near the portables.
