Today is the first day of our Walk, Roll or Bike to school week. Here are the rules:

You must:

-walk or roll to school (bike, scooter etc.)

-your teacher needs to record how many walkers/rollers they have each day

-students from Alton village may count if they WALK to the bus stop and take the BUS

-take a tally in your class each day to keep track of participants

Here’s a walk to school fact: Finding a walking buddy can be fun and add safety to your walk to school. Choose a friend, or if you have a neighbour that is too young to walk alone, offer to walk with them! Build community, help a friend, and have fun during your walk, roll or bike to school!

Today is ALSO the first day of Step Challenge 2.0. Thanks to everyone who has signed up! The tracking sheet is up. Each individual is responsible for tracking their own steps but you may also work with a partner to help each other out. Remember the challenge continues until June 22. Good Luck.

There is a junior ⅚ girls’ soccer practice today at 1st break in the gym.

Mlle Conway would like to meet with the Athletic Council tomorrow at 1st half of second break to plan a final active play day in June. Please meet her in the gym at the bell.

Would all classes send down their healthy snack bins to front foyer by beginning of first break to be filled please.

A reminder to the wellness team to meet in the conference room at first break to fill the healthy snack bins. Mme. Hunt will meet you at second half.

There will be an important spirit club meeting at second break in the library.

Today the weather is supposed to be HOT.  The temperatures will feel like 35 degrees.  Please students do not overexert yourself during nutrition breaks.  There should be no running. Make use of shady areas in the schoolyard and drink lots of water.

Orchard Park remember to be respectful to yourself and others.

Have a Magical Monday!

Last week our panther soccer teams all participated in tournaments. All teams played really well and proudly represented Orchard Park. Congratulations to the senior girls’ team for making it to the finals at the Boyne Tournament and congratulations to the junior boys’ team in becoming champions at the Frontenac tournament.

In addition to that excitement, we found out that both senior teams have advanced to the semifinals in their league play. The boys play tomorrow at 4pm at Brant Hills against Macmillan and the girls play on Thursday at 4pm at Brant Hills against Central. Wish them good luck when you see them in the hall! Go Panthers!

Great work OPP! We have now made our way through Alberta. We started off in Calgary (a little too early for the stampeded, but the set up is looking great!)
